So I’m craving hummus, and I looked up some information on reviving dried chickpeas from here and am using the PC provided cookbook to get the rest of the recipe, plus my own substitutions.
For my 1 person trial, I’m using 2 cups of overnight-soaked chickpeas and 4 cups of water. Bring it to a boil, then let it simmer for an hour.
Get out your 12 manat (:D :D :D) food processor. Add salt, pepper, some red hot chili pepper, and any sort of nut that you like (I’m using unripe almonds I think), and some lemon juice (I just threw in small chunks of lemon without the skin). Process that shnaz!
Then add some olive oil, put it on a plate, add some more olive oil, paprika and parsley if you have it (I don’t at the moment), and enjoy. Sa7tain! /
RESULT: Taste, delicious. Texture, not really smooth and hummusy… it’s either me or my food processor with the problem. Everything I do with my food processor ends up in the same texture, like dots ice cream, so… maybe I am doing something wrong. I bet someone who knows how to use a food processor will not have this problem :)
